#WePROMise is a peaceful, organized group of recent Mercy alumna, allies and community members who are willing to stand up for those who can not stand up for themselves. Specifically, at Mercy High School where girls are not allowed to bring girls to prom in 2017. Use the hashtag to join us in the fight against homophobia and for equality!

Our Mission:
Our Goal:
We advocate for LGBTQ+ rights (human rights) directed at high schools that restrict prom to heterosexual couples. Through peaceful protest, organization, the presentation of facts and strength in numbers we hold down oppressors to raise up the marginalized. True women of Mercy are leaders in their community for those who can not be leaders themselves.
We aim to create a social media presence and a news worthy story to persuade Mercy High School of Middletown, CT to change their "policies" on prom dates. We also want to create support for those who are in high school and are afraid about coming out as a member of the LGBTQ+ community. Finally, we will work toward a greater, healthier understanding of the members of the LGBTQ+ community.
